Featured Guest Pages (why not add yours!)
Getting to page 1 on Google is tough, but not impossible.
Search engine indexes are saturated with print & design sites all trying to achieve the same goal, which is to get listed at or as near the top of page 1 as possible. The top players consistently spend a great deal of money to keep their positions in the Google index. The smaller print companies may not have the resources to compete at the top level however, this does not mean that a page 1 listing is an impossible task, far from it.
Following the main SEO guidelines, coupled with a lot of hard work, can also get great results. Quality content, well-optimised site pages and a strong backlinking profile are key in making your first steps towards being found online.
This site exists to give readers useful print buying information before proceeding to select a printer. The site also exists to give a helping hand to the many smaller, or newer print companies who’d like a share of the traffic enjoyed by the top players.
Ok, listing your company on our site isn’t going to shoot you to the top of the rankings but, as with most things SEO, every link helps, providing it’s a quality (read: related) link.
Submitting an Article.
To get the best possible SEO effect for your article, I’ve included a few pointers below to help you provide content that will work for you, and not just sit there in the ether.
1. Any article used should be ‘unique’. i.e. it shouldn’t be published elsewhere as Google will not give it much link juice if the content is duplicated elsewhere. The article needs to be written by a ‘human’, not automatically-generated using article software.
2. Think of your most profitable product and write an article about that, including the main keyword spread out through the article (don’t overdo it though!).
3. Have no more than 2 or 3 links back to your site on each article, so it doesn’t look too much like blatant advertising to the search engines. Also think about text anchor links to other sub pages of your site, not just the homepage. Also create a link to your directory listing here if you haven’t already done so. (The directory is currently being rebuilt, so please be patient if you have a listing that isn’t shoing yet).
4. The article(s) needs to be useful to readers, so no prices please only quality content and this will help send people to your site, and hopefully buy!
5. Use as much text and graphics as you feel necessary. Don’t forget to ‘optimise’ the images. e.g. if your article is about ‘laminated business cards’ for instance, then name your images:
laminated-business-cards-1.jpg
laminated-business-cards-2.jpg etc.
We’ll take care of the ALT tags and ‘title’ tags to use for any articles, (unless you prefer to provide these yourself), so you get the best SEO effect for your site.
As this is a free service we’d appreciate some sort of link back to our site, either the homepage or maybe one of our articles. Let us know what you decide. The more you can do for us, the harder we will try to get your article(s)/site noticed.
The easiest format for sending over articles would be Word, as we can then import this and style it to suit the rest of the site.
We look forward to hearing from you, and don’t hesitate to drop us a line should you have any questions about the above.
If you have an article that’s ready to send to us, then please email it over using:
